New Moon Solar Eclipse Today

by on Jul.11, 2010, under In The News

The New Moon in Cancer is aligning with the sun in Cancer, creating a total solar eclipse. If you are in the South Pacific you are in luck, as that is the best place to view it! The new moon will slide in front of the sun’s disk beginning at 2:15 p.m. EDT, casting a circular shadow on the Earth. The only land it will cross are Mangaia in the Cook Islands, Easter Island, a few scattered atolls, and southern Chile and Argentina. The next total solar eclipse in the continental U.S. is Aug. 21, 2017. Take time to go within today, look at the shadow side of your life, those things that hide within us and block our joy and progress. Make plans to address these as potentials for personal growth.
